The political action committee of End Citizens United is dedicated to driving money out of politics, but it has also been raising a lot of capital of its own.
Over the course of the first three months of 2017, End Citizens United raised over four million. The group has estimated that by the midterm elections for Congres in 2018, End Citizens United will have collected well over $35 million. The predicted change is quite drastic compared to the $25 million that the group raised last year over the course of the first election cycle.
Over the first three months of 2017, approximately 100 000 people have contributed to the political group of End Citizens United. Forty thousand of these contributors donated for the first time according to the president and executive director f the political action group Tiffany Muller. She gave some additional information such as the average donation which has been about 12 dollars. The leader of End Citizens United also talked about the objective of the contributors, and that is to fight against Donald trump and his nominees. People have stated that they feel like politics is a market and those with the most money buy the most power.
One of the most recent campaigns of the political action group has been to encourage donors to direct enough contributions to the congressional campaign of Jon Ossoff. The tier for the democrat is half a million. Democrat Jon Ossof is a political candidate in Georgia for the first time. So far, he has impressed us with his raising over $4 million. The sun was collected in order to fill a seat for the republican house in Atlanta. Th seat was left vacant by Tom Price who is the Health and Human Services Secretary.
Another recent urge from the End Citizens United was to encourage groups and people to refrain from voting for Betsy DeVos to take on the role of Trump’s Education Secretay. Although the vote was a tie, Vice President pence broke that tie with his vote and tipped the scale in her and Trump’s favor.
End Citizens United functions as any other political action group. It was formed in 2010 to fight against the decision of the Supreme Court of the same year titled Citizens United. The decision enabled unions and corporations to donate to candidate elections. End Citizens United cannot accept donations larger than five thousand dollars from an individual at once, but the political group is still quite successful. According to the prognosis, the group will continue to raise mad money for years to come. The political action group has a powerful leadership which has been active and resourceful in their campaigns and projects. End Citizens United is one of the strongest teams today.
