Dr. Rod Rohrich is known internationally for his abilities as a plastic surgeon. He enjoys providing his knowledge to other professionals to aid in the development of his field. He will be teaching his methods to other medical professionals during three symposiums in the early part of 2018.
The first of these conferences is the Baker Gordon Educational Symposium. It was held in Miami, Florida on February 8th to the 10th. At this event, Dr. Rod Rohrich performed a live rhinoplasty in front of an audience of his peers and students. He was one of the esteemed faculty of the event and participated in and moderated various panels as well as giving lectures throughout the event.
The second and third conferences took place from February 28th to March 3rd in Dallas, Texas. These two conferences were the Annual Global Dallas Cosmetic Surgery and Medicine Meeting followed by the Dallas Rhinoplasty Meeting. Dr. Rod Rohrich organized and chaired both of these events that drew crowds from across the world. Both of these symposiums are known for their fresh cadaver labs in which attendees get hands-on experience with the procedures. The cadaver lab is also used to give presentations, two of these involved the participation of Dr. Rod Rohrich. At the medicine meeting, every panel was moderated by Rohrich and at the Rhinoplasty Meeting, he moderated several as well.
Dr. Rod Rohrich attended Baylor College of Medicine where he was a member of Alpha Omega Alpha with high honors. He graduated with an M.D. before finishing his residency at the University of Michigan where he was the Chief Administrative Plastic Surgery Resident. IN 1984 he completed a craniofacial and pediatric plastic surgery fellowship at the Radcliffe Infirmary. Following his first fellowship, Dr. Rod Rohrich completed a fellowship in hand surgery at the Massachusetts General Hospital in 1986.
Dr. Rod Rohrich currently practices out of two main locations in Dallas, Texas. These two facilities are the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center and the Dallas Plastic Surgery Institute. He has been at these two locations for over 31 years, since 1986. At the University of Texas, he is also the Founding Chair of Plastic Surgery as well as a professor.
A philanthropist, Dr. Rod Rohrich also teaches and performs plastic surgery in developing parts of the world. He started the Rod J. Rohrich Foundation and part of their mission is to sponsor a medical student who plans on practicing primary care in his home state, North Dakota.
