OSI Group proves once again why they are one of the top food companies in America. OSI Group began as Otto Kolschowsky Meat Market in 1909, in Aurora, Illinois. The company would become Otto and Sons after 19 years of operation and has been named OSI Industries since 1975.
OSI Group now places as the 39th largest food producing company in the United States while also operating in China, Germany, and the U.K. Now one of the leaders in providing sausage, bacon, beef, poultry, fruit, vegetables, seafood dough, and cheese products to restaurants. While providing amazing services OSI Group has been awarded the Globe of Honour. This award goes to a company that shows a commitment to environmental safety throughout the year.
This award, given by the British Safety Council, was won in November 2016, during this time OSI Group was also awarded the Sword of Honour for demonstrating an excellent commitment to worker health and safety. With winning these awards, OSI Group sets the bar rather high for other companies to reach for, while simultaneously climbing the ladder and gaining more recognition and growth for themselves.
OSI Group is on its way to the forefront of the food industry across the world, and have amassed a revenue of 6.1 Billion USD. OSI Group’s operations have been vital to the continuing growth of the restaurant industry, and continues to turn heads with revenues in 2011 alone reaching 3 billion, placing it as America’s 136th largest companies on Forbes. Having grown beyond the borders of the United States, OSI has recently expanded into Spain, with a factory in Toledo.
This factory has also done well as of late, well enough to warrant the addition of a high-capacity production line. These additions cost around 17 million euro, but has allowed the capacity of 12,000 tons of chicken to double, and with more chicken comes more jobs. OSI Group has been and continues to be a vital part of the food industries foundation.
